My artwork is a reflection of my feelings. The intent of my artwork is to capture the same feeling when I am actually at a location. If it is a seascape, I want to capture the quality of light, the details and textures of water hitting the rocks, or giving the sand a nice shimmering effect. My creative process involves first being on location, and I look for a scene that captures my attention. I'll paint directly from that picture.

If it is an abstract piece, I start with a quick stroke of color on the blank canvas, and then build from it. The color blue resonsates with me on many levels. Visually it reminds me of the ocean and sky. Emotionally it represents thoughtfulness, drama, peace and calm.
